In a Nut Shell

I’m a tender-hearted extrovert who wears my heart on my sleeve.  I’m the type of girl who loves being pampered with regular massages and mani-pedi’s, and if you invite me to go camping, I will politely turn you down. I love to hug.  I love to laugh.  I love to live. And I love everything about weddings.  Seriously.

I’ve Always Been a Performer

(and then I decided to study the “art” of performing)
I’m a native Virginian, but grew up in North Carolina. I studied Acting at The North Carolina School of the Arts, Dance and Choreography at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Musical Theatre at Shenandoah University. I graduated from The Boston Conservatory of Music and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in Directing. I am a  highly trained dancer in tap, jazz, ballet and numerous other styles, and was allowed to earn my “movement” requirements for my degree alongside the dance majors in their highest classes.

Four Year Undergraduate Studies included:  Vocal Production, Speech, Diction, Dialects, Musical Arrangement, Singing, Solfeggi, Piano, Music Theory, Alexander Technique, Stage Combat, Theatre Management, Theatrical Stage Craft, Theatrical Stage Lighting, Character Make-Up Design, Costume Design, Acting, Shakespeare, Modern Drama, Directing and Dancing {tap, jazz, ballet, modern, pointe}

While in NYC, I  continued my training with private voice lessons, professional acting classes and professional dance classes.

I also appeared regionally in my one-woman tribute to the great ladies of Broadway in “One Night of Broadway”.

New York  City –  Theatre Career

I followed my first passion, to be a Broadway performer directly after college and spent over 12 years in New York City as a professional singer, dancer and actress. I worked.  I had some successes.  But never became famous.  I appeared in the daytime drama “As the World Turns” as well as the HBO hit “Sex and the City”. I was a principal singer onboard several cruise lines including, The Song of America, The Enchanted Seas and The Mississippi Queen. I also enjoyed a six month run at Burt Reynold’s Jupiter Dinner Theatre in Florida and appeared in Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel in their critically acclaimed long-running production of the 60’s musical “Beehive”. I toured the United States in such crowd-pleasing favorites as “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and “Sleeping Beauty”. I also appeared regionally in “42nd Street”, “Anything Goes”, “Gypsy”, “Kismet”, “Peter Pan”, “My Fair Lady”, “Annie Get Your Gun”, “The Sound of Music”, “Funny Girl”, “Me & My Girl”, “Pippin”, “A Chorus Line”, “Barnum”, “Pinnochio” and “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. In New York City I originated the role of Ed in the musical revue “Primetime” premiering at Musical Theatre Works with musical arrangements by Andrew Gerle, directed by Drew Geraci and produced by Ken Davenport. And… Moving on to 3rd person…..

Voice-Over Actor, Producer and Director

Elisabeth has spent a great deal of time in recording studios in Texas and New York City providing “sweetener” back-ground vocal tracks for live theatre productions and lead vocal tracks for corporate industrials. She also starred in over 10 music videos produced in Nashville now appearing in Japan. Behind the scenes, Elisabeth has produced and directed productions of “The Fantasticks” and “Minnesota Moon” in Boston as well as Stephen Schwartz’s musical “The Baker’s Wife” in Texas. She has also served as stage manager on numerous productions across the country.

International Performer

Elisabeth’s extensive work as a performer has taken her to Paris, London, Venice, Lucerne, and Frankfurt as well as countless other cities across the United States and abroad.

Special Event Professional

Elisabeth began her career in the special event industry with Chez-zam Entertainment Group (New York City) in 1989 quite by accident as a means to support herself as she pursued her Broadway aspirations. She began as an “interactive” dancer working with some of Manhattan’s most talented and sought after DJs and Masters of Ceremonies. By 1997 she had become a trusted director and manager handling many of their key clients including Cablevision. One of her final responsibilities was to supervise the “High Rollers” New Year’s Eve celebration 2004 at the Atlantic City Hilton Hotel and Casino.

Elisabeth started her own entertainment company Daley DJs in 2003 and rebranded in 2010 to Liz Daley Events to better portray all the services available to her clients. Elisabeth is comfortable working in a multitude of environments. She has served as an event planner and coordinator at private and corporate events held at such recognizable venues as The Pierre, The Waldorf-Astoria and The Marriott Marquis as well as numerous Banquet Halls and Country Clubs in Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts. She has handled everything from small parties with a mobile DJ set up to huge extravaganzas with Headline Entertainment as well as “team-building” events and major Fundraising Dinners and Auctions. She continues to maintain extensive contacts and connections from all over the country in the entertainment industry.

Nationwide Industry Leader

In 2007, Elisabeth became the first female to earn the prestigious title of “Wedding Entertainment Director®” and she was on the Board of Directors that created the WED Guild®‘s thorough application requirements and review process. Since 2010, she served as President and Executive Director of The Wedding Entertainment Directors Guild®. In 2010, Elisabeth achieved the advanced designation of “Accredited Bridal Consultant™”, of which there are only 60 in the country, through the Association of Bridal Consultants, the oldest and largest association for wedding planners.

Local Industry Leader

Additionally, Liz was instrumental in forming the Eastern Virginia Chapter  and Richmond Chapter of The American Disc Jockey Association and has served as an officer for 10 years running.  President for three years, Vice-President for three years, and secretary for four years. The ADJA is the only national Disc Jockey organization that has local chapters that promote education and professionalism in the mobile entertainment industry.

Wedding DJ All-Stars Panelist

In 2010 she was invited to sit on a panel of experts “All-Star Emcee Secrets Revealed” in Atlantic City at the “DJ Times” Convention alongside Jason Jani, Mike Berrios, Mike Walter, Adam J. Weitz, Johnny Kelly, Steve Moody and Sean “Big Daddy” McKee.

Back to 1st person…

Love of Music

I love almost all music and I love helping people have a great party. (however, I don’t  much care for techno, ska, heavy metal, angry “I hate the world” modern rock or gangsta rap) I require that music have a melody and intrinsic musical value.

I enjoy classic dance music as well as current dance favorites, and I especially love  the new crop of “easy listening” artists including Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat and the modern age crooner, Michael Buble. However, I am a Broadway Baby at heart and have a ridiculous library of Broadway Cast Recordings and Movie Soundtracks.

When creating YOUR PLAYLIST, I will work with you to determine what’s best for your “group”. I have a monster music library available at every event and will use my experience to “read” the room and play music that keeps EVERYONE HAPPY!

Work Ethic and Commitment to Excellence

What is my big “WHY”?  Why do I do this?  Because I love it …..and because I’m really, really good at it.  Couples deserve the best on their wedding day.  They deserve more than someone who is “clocking in” for a paycheck.  They deserve someone just as committed to the success of their day as they are.  That’s me.  Just like the 90’s phenomenon, “Friends”…. I’ll be there for you…..

OMG! Did you really read all that???

You know way too much about me . . .
We are now officially dating…..
